About Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition that causes increased pressure inside the eye. This pressure, if left untreated, can eventually damage the optic nerve and lead to blindness. Luckily, glaucoma can be easily identified during a routine checkup at Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha, NE. Once spotted, glaucoma can be treated in one of several ways, such as iStent, SLT, and kahook double blade. Speak with one of our licensed practitioners today to discuss your options for the treatment of glaucoma.

We use the minimally invasive Kahook dual blade in a goniotomy to create an incision in the trabecular meshwork to reduce intraocular pressure.

An Ahmed tube shunt is a surgical intervention to drain fluid from the eye to reduce intraocular pressure and prevent damage to the optic nerve.
